How to Reorder, Rotate, and Delete Pages in a PDF
Sometimes a PDF arrives in the wrong order, with extra cover sheets, or with pages scanned upside down. idlPDF's organize tool gives you a visual grid of every page, so you can drag them into the right order, delete the ones you don't want, and rotate any that need fixing.
Why use this tool
- Fix the order of scanned documents in seconds.
- Remove blank pages, cover sheets, or duplicates before sending.
- Rotate landscape pages so everything reads in one direction.
- Build a custom hand-out from a longer source document.
Step-by-step guide
- 1
Open the Reorder & Delete tool
Drop your PDF onto the upload area. Every page appears as a thumbnail in a grid you can rearrange.
- 2
Drag pages to reorder them
Click and hold any page, then drag it to a new position. Other pages shift to make room. The new order is the order in your saved file.
- 3
Rotate or delete individual pages
Use the rotate button on any thumbnail to turn it 90° at a time. Use the ✕ button to remove a page. Selected pages can also be deleted in bulk.
- 4
Save the reorganized PDF
Click Save PDF when you're happy. idlPDF assembles the new file and downloads it instantly.
Tips for best results
- Hold and drag from the body of a page card, not the buttons, to start a reorder gesture.
- Deleted pages are removed only from the new file. Your original PDF stays intact.
- Combine with the Crop or Watermark tools afterwards to finalize the document.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a deletion?
Re-upload the original file to start over. To avoid losing work, save once you have an order you like, then continue editing if needed.
Does reordering affect file size?
Removing pages reduces size. Pure reordering does not.
Will form fields and links still work?
Internal page links that point to a kept page are preserved. Form fields keep their values.
